400ex rev problem

hey guys i just got my 400 running and everything i got a slip on rejetted it and for some reason when i rev it it feels like the limiter kicks in at about 4000-6000 rpms. and when i was riding it i pulled a wheelie in second and it didnt even rev enough to keep it up all the way.

the jet is a 146 main

cmon guys i need help my 400 wont even rev 3/4 out of a gear

it can be the stator. condeser, a dirty carb, jetting. vavles. and other things. check to make sure all of the ones above are ok
buy a jet kit if you havent already and experiment with jetting and see if it goes away. that was the same problem that i had. i dont know how you will tell if the stator may be bad, but you can have a dealer look at your stator. hope this helps

oh also what is the stock jetting in that 400

i believe stock is 142 i already expierienced with the jetting

if you have a friend with a 400ex try replacing the cdi box with his. and take a night and clean your carb and make sure you jets are clean

no one around here has a 400ex ... so it kinda sucks...

huh, that does suck. take it to your local dealer and ask them if they can fix it. cause when i have a problem like yours the swapped cdis with other quads that the had there,and acouple of people they knew

i have the stock cdi to my 400ex out in the garage im never going to use it again $25 you can have it it may help

Is the choke on? The stock jets are 148 main and 42 pilot, Change the main to a 152/155 and the pilot to a 40/42.

umm i tried with the choke on but still doesnt rev high . and how do u change the pilot? does it come with a dyno jet jet kit?

if it doesnt rev high it has nothing to do with the pilot jet anything past 1/4 throttle is the main jet and needle position or it could very well be your cdi or stator try bumping up your main jet to a 152-155 like 400eXr1d3rZ said and see what happens i know a few places around here have single jets right there rather than buying the whole jet kit you can spen like 5 bux and be good to go

no its a 148. go up to a 152 or 155 and a 42 pilot
