Can i have them re valved and resprung, yes i know their stock but i don't have $800-$1000 bucks for new ones what are my options I'm 6ft 240lbs stock a-arms and just ride trails occasionally mx tracks.lol....another thing that isn't helping my front suspension is the fact I'm running the 6 ply xc Bandits and if anyone knows what I'm talking about those are some stiff a** tires.I was how ever thinking of buying these Elkas after i get my taxes back what do you guys think? But for now how would the stockers do if they were worked over?

You can't do anything to the stock front shocks unforunately. You'd be better off saving for Elkas or finding some 450R shocks for cheap and having them revalved by a good shop.

Those are the non-adjustable piggybacks if i'm not mistaken. Should suit your riding needs just fine if you mostly ride trails like you said.

yea theres nothing you can do to stock shocks...

i would think about the 450r shocks and get them revalved/resprung and they will be as good if not better than aftermarkets.

those elkas you pictured above are good for recreational use...

you can get stock 450r shocks and not even get them revalved, that what I have and I am about 240 pounds, its a little stiff when traveling on trails of rocks, but on the dirt, and shail pits, and the mx track, they are sweet!

I never rode a stock R, just modded ones with after market set ups, but I really like mine, they are really stiff, and when it comes to jumps and bumps, their great, they look pretty trick too, the only time they arnt so great is when riding over a path of jagged rocks, not just one or too, i mean like RIDING on a rock pile thats flat, they get a little chattery, but still handles fine for me

you can adjust the compression and rebound on the rear stock shock.

i'm 6'1" 215lbs and i set my rear comp. and rebound to full hard and it seemed to make the ride better with my rough 6ply razr's.

i also set the front preload to full hard as well. seems to work pretty good for me on the trails.
