Wow, what a difference. I ride with alot of friends with trx's. Mostly 06's ,, 07's etc. We uncorked my buddys 07 and rejetted, man does it rip for a stock quad.

I just got done rebuilding my 04 motor, 11.5.1 Je piston, HC2, all new valves etc . That 07 will still pull me . Granted i still have a stock head pipe ,and lower compression. But other then uncorking the 07 ,hes stock.

Someone said put on the 03 crf 450 dirtbike carb and it will be a night and day difference. What do you think? The 07 just feels like it has a TON more grunt off the bottom and still is able to pull good power up top.

The fcr carb is one of the best mods i've done to my quad. The throttle response is awesome, and it made the quad "feel" faster. I dont know for sure if it really makes it faster but it feels like it does.

Can you switch to the FCR carb if your motors bone stock? Would it make much of a difference? I have a FMF Factory 4 exhaust system, and the FMF jet kit to go with it. Just curious. Thanks

Tonight I hope to flow-bench test a stock 2004 TRX450r head vs. a 2006 TRX450r head back to back and post the results in flow.

Stay tuned.

the will help some, but its the whole motor that makes it faster stock for stock. the heads are different, air boxs, filter, compression, and the carb. that all will make it faster.

completed the intake side of the comparison...

a summary of the results are that the 06 flows equivalent cfm's as the 04 head, but with more velocity...

by looking into the intake port that is easy enough to figure out that the velocity would be higher...

gotta love HVP (high velocity porting)

tonight I'll get a chance to do the exhaust side of the head, then post some port mapping images and cfm flow curves of the two...

don't use the crf cam, get a web, or hot cam.
