Even with the quiet core the HMF is gonna be a lot louder than stock. I'd say leave the stock exhaust on it if sound is the concern. Nothing out there is going to be near as quiet as stock.

for the most part all of the exhaust systems now are 96 db with the quiet core spark arrestors in them. my E2 wasn't very loud with it in.

still 96 dB is more than stock and noticable. Someone said stock is 86dB i'm not sure though

well I had the white bros e-series with the silencer quiet core and it was still loud, not a concern for me...most of the time like the times I used to go out with some buddies and drag race at 1 in the morning out at this little sand dunes area on the powerlines. My cousin took a video of me before and if I can find it i'll post it, it will show how loud it is

go with the fmf Q2 quieter than all of them.

By the way the video where its a drag race that was by far my worst race of the day thats why he put it up to make it look like banshees will smoke a 400ex. I won a few so no worries. White bros e-series added a measly 2HP, running stock I can do basically the same without the noise. HMF is best for cheap power which is what i'm getting haha

I take it back I can run faster than the white bros with the stock pipe because I never jetted it so I would bog down about 3rd gear and up.

no aftermarket pipe is gonna stop people from complaining.
ur better off running stock if ur worried about it.
i just say screw the neighbors. u get used to the *****en

if i were you buy a new insert for your stock exhasut. they are only $40 i think on ebay. i took mine out before i bought my hmf and it was a little louder and sounded better 2. it wont be super loud like my hmf but still have a deeper tone.

i have a quiet core for my hmf and it still sounds decent, but not as deep as with just the spark arrestor. it did make a pretty big difference when the rpms are lower and you're just kind of putting around. however, at 1/2 throttle and above its still like ear splitting. if you're just looking for a better sound but not really more power, just stick with stock. its fun to sound ba but sometimes i regret it. i'll really regret it when i get a $180 fine slapped on me while in wisconsin. if you must have a pipe, stick with the fmf q series (1-4) or a pro circuit type 496 or something else of the sort.
