What year 450r to buy

Just sold my 250r, and have been looking at 450's. What year 450r is best and why?

What needs to be done to the other years to make them quick AND bulletproof?

I'd get a '05, you can build just as strong of a motor as an '06. Plus the 2005 handles better than the '06. If you do get a 2006 or up, put an HRC kit in it and focus on upgrading the suspension and handling.

id get an '04 or '05...'04 though u know NO crank bearing problems

Crank bearing problems?
this is the kind of stuff I would appreciate help with.
Example-250r geometry changed between 87 and 88 and pre-89 models could use a clutch update.

the NEW 05's were throwin crank bearings like it was no ones business. it would usually happen during the first few hours of riding though
