Renthal Handlebars on 05 400ex

I have a 2005 400ex and want to put Renthal 7/8" standard handlebars on it. For these handlebars do I have to get a different bar clamp. I looked on Trail Techs website and they have a bar clamp for 7/8" bars but had no place to put the key switch and indicator lights. Then I seen a stem cover that would house the key switch and indicator lights but I need to know if it will fit on the trail tech bar clamp or the stock bar clamp I have.

Hi,i've just put 7/8 pro taper bars on my 07 400ex,clamps fit fine with standard dash etc,Hope this helps.

I have an 05 also with renthal bars. Stockers bent when I had a little incident. I bought a modquad clamp to go with them. Its polished and looks better than stock and has holes for both indicator lights and the key. No drilling holes and relocating.

So what you guys are saying is I cant use my stock bar clamp for the 7/8" bar and have to get a different one, right?

The first post by fullysic 400 said you could. It should work, stock 7/8 clamps with 7/8 bars. Good Luck

Hi, 05yellow400EXJV

Just to confirm,yes 7/8 stock clamp will fit 7/8 bars,so far i've had renthal bars,fly bars,and settled on pro-taper atv high bend(these give you a great sitting position).

The dash,key/lights etc will fit however on mine I chose to move the lights to r/h front guard,I also relocated the key .

x2. although they were red... now they are pink =( o well i laugh about it all the time. the worked with all stock clamp dash etc
