Anyone have any solutions to tank graphics on a stock tank?
1 week after intall they are bubbling bad, after first race. Tank was sanded(600) and cleaned good. The graphics are not perforated; Does it make that much difference?

They all bubble and peel, drain your tank this will get rid of some of the problem, BTW i have never sanded my tanks and my graphics usually last a year or so.

Put a slice in the bubble and throw some grip glue in there..

Works well.

And the glue comes off easily when you take the graphics off.

TRX450RACER174;
Are you saying drain the tank when you put the graphics on?

to get graphics to stick to the tank you have to drain the tank and let it air out for 48 hours. this will allow all the vapors to escape.

put on your graphics and let sit for another 48 hours. cut several small slits in the graphics to let vapors escape cause they come thru the plastic.

No matter what you do, eventually the graphics will turn yellow and bubble/peel. This is because the gas vapors actually evaporate through the plastic of the tank.

Thanks for the help!
I will try that for my next attemp.
Do the perforated graphics last any longer before they start to self destruct?

im pretty sure the 08 tank design solves this problem because it actually has a cover over the tank like all the other 450's

That would make things easier!!
Maybe the 08 tank will fit the older models also.

My Grahpics stuck for a few months, then they bubbled like crazy and turned yellow so I took them off....

perforated hold better/longer.............about a year

go to automotive store and get some spray adhiesive, pull the graphic off, clean the old glue off the tank and off the graphics

spray the back side of the graphic and stick it back on
(get it right the first time because it dont move easy)

this will last about another year..............then repeat

yeah, the graphics will easily last a year. keep the gas tank full when you put the quad away, its the vapors that drive the graphics crazy not the liquid

do you guys spray any liquid down on the plastic so you can move it or do you just try to stick it right the first time?

stick it right the first time, you can pull it off if you need to then respray it again, it just wont slide at all.

the can of glue will do it prob. a dozen times and its only like 5 bucks

Do you mean like soapy water.....or somthing else? When I put knew graphics on I spray the area with soapy water so I can slide the things around to line them up then use a blow dryer on low heat to dry them up.
