Just raise your shifter 1 notch.

Should be a 10mm bolt on the end of the shifter....loosen it and move your shifter up one or two notched depending on your comfort level....

are you just trying to twist it? you have to pull it out its set into notches.

Same here, I got Tech 3s and had that same problem. You got to brake them in and then you will get use to it. It only took a few days of riding to brake mine in.:)

Pry the the split end of the shifter open a bit....if you cant get to it, then just take the bolt completely out and wiggle it while pulling it to you...its a bit of a pain, but once its lifted up, you'll have no problem shifting with your boots on.;)

There is a notch so the bolt has to be completely out. Then wiggle it off like everyone else said. You could try prying the gap open a little to help you get it off.
