what do u guys think about air scoops? is it worth the money or would it be fine without it?

I like the way they look and most will tell you you dont really notice that much of a difference. SLightly bigger oil cooler would most likely work better but isnt as practicle. Hopefully many write in to this topic so we can found out if they are worth it

i think there mainly for looks, but they do cool the engine some, theres no arguing that,,, if more air is directed towards your engine of course it will run a bit cooler.

I like them and I have a set on my quad. They suit my riding style well and direct a lot more airflow over the cooling fins. For less than $50.00 they are worth the added insurance.
If you use the "Search" feature with in this forum there is some great debates on the topic and some great pictures different air scoops mounted on quads.

HORNET,

IS THERE ANY WAY YOU COULD TAKE A PIC OF WHERE EXACTLY THE SCOOPS MOUNT? I JUST GOT SOME & THEY DONT SEEM TO LINE UP WITH THE SCREWS THAT ARE ALREADY THERE. ALSO WHAT KIND OF HARDWARE CAME WITH THEM?

THANKS

CDB racing on the web... 41.00 shipped.

They mount using the lower front body bracket and frame bolt as well as the upper front body bolt. Mine were tight as well, but with a little muscle it worked in fine. I will post pics tonight

They come with 2 long bolts with nuts. Those bolts are used for the top mount holes. The lower mount holes use the lower plastic mount bracket bolt. The air scoops slides in behind the support bracket and the 10mm bolt that is on the quad originally holds both. Try it out. If you still need a picture, let me know.

Just put some PRM on my bike. I love 'em. No, you don't need them , but they looked cool so I decided to get 'em. I also liked the added support they gave my fenders.
