How hard is it to keep white plastic clean? I'm talking about track riding and mild racing on tracks. How hard is it to keep the dirt out of the scrathches? Do scratches show up real bad like black?

In my opinion white is the best for not showing scratches and as long as you wash your bike after it gets muddy and you dont let it sit around and stain it will stay looking new. hope this helps

and when plastic stain you can use mothers mag and aluminum polish on it and will pull the stain out. but only do this on white plastic

Well if I was it after I get done riding with a power washer it won't stain?

If you seen my other thread "Big photoshop request", I was thinking about have all white plastic. I just don't want to have the whole bike end up like this. (look at the number plate).

I have all white plastic and the scratches aren't very noticeable unless dirt gets in them. I have a hard time getting it out.

Does the Mothers aluminum polish really work?

wow that sounds kool. i never heard that one..but i will be up to tryin it! could you tell me exactly what you do? i have almost a whole can of mother's mag and aluminum polish in the back garage, and i would like to try it if it works pretty good...and do you have to be pretty careful with it like it won't take away any shine or eat away at it or anything will it?

Thanks,
Landon

My buddy has a white LTR and his looks about 80 years older than mine, and there the same age, id stay away from both white and black plastics.

I tried everything, but then recently I purchased a power washer and wow. It looks a lot better.

yeah all you have to do is dab a little polish on there and like leave it for about 5 minutes and then just scrub it a little, i wouldnt want to put it on and then forget about it, cause i dont know what it would do to the plastic. only do this on white plastic cause my friend tried it on red and it pulled the color out of it. i havent tried this before cause i have black plastic with lots of graphics but my friend does this with his raptors white plastic, so give it a shot, jsut not on colored plastics.

Actually, Soft Scrub, water, and a rag works pretty well too.

I wash my white YFZ with carwash stuff and then for the scratches I use that MR. Clean magic eraser. It works great. Just don't rub real hard and it won't take the shine away. Then I spray it with Plastic shine and it helps keep the dirt off while you ride.

Simple Green and an SOS pad...takes the stains out in seconds.

What I used to do with my white plastics was to put clear number plate background over the places I knew would get scratched up alot. Anywhere your knees/boots come into contact with the plastics I'd use it. Keeps the plastics looking good and when the backgrounds get all scuffed up you just peel them off and put new on. ;)

The SOS pad will take the stain out but it will provide twice as many scratches to get stained for the next ride.

Just use gas,and if your worried about it looking pretty. You can always spray wd40 on it.

Example: gas and wd40
