I have to torque down the head, cylinder, flywheel, and primary gear.
I left my adapter at my friends house so I couldnt torque them:o

its ok, it will only take two minutes.....

I also need a counter balncer bolt the threads were screwed up on the one I was gonna use.

theres no way in **** im gonna ruin the threads on my brand new cases.....

putting it together was cake...

I forgot to put the kick starter in at first so i had to take the clutch basket out :rolleyes: but no biggie....

My friend has been using the stock length studs on his motor with a spacer plate and he never had a problem. Ever try taking the studs out? ITS HARD! well, I kept the stock studs in since my friend never had any problems Im gonna put some red thread lock on them just to be safe....

Hey BEE make sure you put the dowels in the new cases. I did not do it on the last set and it makes the cylinder shift ever so slightly. Thank god I caught it before it was too late. I guess I got excited about having it together that I didnt even realize my mistake. Mo:)

YA YESTERDAY i THINK i DROVE OVER 200 MILES GETTING PARTS.
oops caps.

I had to get my cylinder which was way down rt 80 at a bmw dealer ship. I then went to my friends shop C&G cycle and picked up a head gasket, intake gasket, new intake boot, and a crankshaft collar.

The night before I was at my friends house who races pro am, I picked up a HINSON basket, 89 pressure plate(for the update kit) some barely used front and rear sprockets.

I'm goin crazy right now trying to find a water pump bearing !! my old one is wiggleing and I dont want my mechanical pump to blow.(I have a brand new mechanical pump and oil seal to install but I wont put it in with the old bearing....

well, Ill be putting it in the frame in a bout 2-3 hours....

I really enjoy building the r motor.

Its a work of art..

dave, you dont see the spacer plate in the pictures?

its a 88 crank with a 86 piston, cr250 reed cage, a preemo port job by B+B, and a lil extra TLC somewhere.....

The motor started on the third kick......:devil TIME TO RIP!

nah Im gonna break this motor in nice and slow.....

nasty i'll build you a r motor, let me know when, Ill work some sort of price out with you

these motors are almost as good as sex, well maybe not.:p

im gonna break her in tommorow, I have to play with the timing.....

oh ya, I got the long studs from my old cases out and used them for the new cases.....

I talked to my friend and he backed his stock studs out about 12mm and used a spacer plate...

I was awlays against this.. I feel the long studs are needed..

we had to heat the cases and use a good set of vise grips on the studs.

We didnt have the stud puller so i thought might as well try the vise grips....well they worked good...

Vise Grips can do anything, well as long as you have something hard to hit them with too!:devil
