I am somewhat new to riding, and I'm trying to get some knowledge on different things. What is the difference in a duel row bearing carrier and a regular one?

Bigger, better, and stronger bearings. Usually the housing is made of billet aluminum so it is stronger and lighter than the stock housing.

You forgot to mention that the dual row bearing carriers have two bearings side-by-side on each end of the carrier instead of just one. Bearings aren't real strong in the side-to-side direction, so two of them is better than one at lasting when you are cornering (generating side force), etc. Carriers with tapered bearings are even better because the fact that they are tapered (diagonal shaped inside) makes them stronger when there is side force.

Good luck,
