I just installed my 14 tooth sprocket this weekend and I must say, it is pretty damn impresive. I feel even more in control of the power of the motor now and also I am able to crank wheelies through 3 gears easily. Losing some topend is definately worth it.:)

i thought a 14t knocked some off the bottom end and put it on the top end- giving you more top speed ??

No, a smaller counter sprocket will give you more low end pull, and less top-end speed. Stock, a 400 comes with a 15, that's why I bumped it down to a 14. A sprocket with less teeth on the axle will give you more top-end. It's kinda weird how it works.;)

but it's on the 300ex- what does the 300 come stock with on
the front sproket??- 15t ?? so will it hold a 16t ??
i thought it came with the 13t- so i though puting a 14t on was
going up a notch not down.. my fault

no, a 300 wont hold a 16t, anyways it would be geared so high it would suck.

i have a 14t on my 400 too and it is sweet, it really didnt take away that much top end. the good thing is it cost $13 and i can switch between 14 and 15 in like 15 min any time, any where. overall conclusion: good mod( but really depends on what kind of power and gearing u want)

keep it real:devil

so putting a 12t front on my 300 is like you putting a 14t fr.
on your 400ex --right/wrong??

anyone else out there- put a 12t front on a 300ex-
was first gear even worth having??-
i know my top end will go completly away i'm just curious
