I just put on a ROSSIER full exhaust, HRC needle 3rd clip and HRC 185 MJ with my screw 2 1/2 turn out and back section of my airbox lid cut out.. Now it seems to run fine except that when i leave off the throttle it backfires ALOT. Don't know if i need to turn the screw in more or out more, or if i need to change (i think its called) my pilot srew? Any help would be helpfull.

Thanks,
Mike

Is it a back fire or popping on decel? If it is popping on decel and your quad is an 04-05 you need a bigger pilot jet. You are almost all the way out on the screw now.

Popping on decel ? I don't know what that means. And where is my pilot at?

exhaust leak, check at the head (did you use a new crush gasket)
did you use the high temp coper sealer at the mid pipe?
and you have to let it set up before you fire it up.

yea my guess is its just popping on deceleration...

so i would bump up your pilot jet a few sizes.. and it should be good..

but i would just check for any exhaust leaks to be sure

So am i suppose to have a gasket where the head pipe connects to the engine? I used HI TEMP COPPER GASKET MAKER to connect the head pipe and mid pipe, and to connect my mid pipe to my can. Should i use it to connect the head pipe to the engine.

And where is my Pilot Jet at ?

yes there is a copper crush gasket where your pipe bolts to the engine... it doesnt look like an actual gasket.. it almost like like a spacker or something...

your pilot jet is in your carb... you have to remove the bowl and remove the old one.. and put in another larger one...

just do some searching theres a ton of posts on changine pilot jets... trust me its simple...

I'd put money that its the pilot jet.

Try a #50 or #52
