im new to quads.. i bought my ex being told the bearings were new.. well today i had the rear in the air doing some work, and i noticed i could grap the tire, and move the axle some inside the swingarm, nothing too too serious, but i definetly could move it.. is this bad???

does this mean the bearings are toast? anyone with suggestions would be appreciated, thanks!

Yep, sounds like you need some bearings. Fix it now with new bearings and seals, wait too long and you will need the whole carrier.

If its still got the stock carrier in it I would just get Pivot Works or All Balls from someone like rocky mountain. I dont remember the price but less than $50.

any way to tell what carrier it is without taking it apart? i dont feel like taking it apart, then ordering and waiting for parts before i get them in.

id like to order them now then when they get here take it apart and do it all at once..

I know how to tell I just dont know how to tell you how to . Most aftermarket carriers will have thier name on the sprocket side. See if you can find a picture of a stock one and compare to yours.

Yes. You'll need to know what kind to get bearings.

The last picture is the axle nut. Its just a gamble whether to ride it or not. Check them often if you are gonna ride it.

go ahead and pull the axle out and check the slack of thew bearings. if they are bad then you;ll need to remove them. afterwards carry them to a local napa or bearing suply and they'll match them up. shouls be around 50.00 for the set.

you will crack your carrier, streach your chain and were down your sprocket faster if you ride a long time on bad bearings
