This might sound like a stupid question me not knowing this but what are the bennifits of cut fenders?

so the front tires dont hit? for when coming out of the gate and rubbing next to eachother? wont crack the plastics when you roll?

i don't think the tires would hit the fenders but it helps with wind resistence and it makes it so the rest of your plastic dosen't crack as easy

I think the only people that don't cut their fenders are guys who have a 400ex and just puts around, and never will buy anything for it. Then there the group i fall into. I don't want to get super wet and muddy while trail riding. Other wise it be done.

basically so u can watch your self. when you are doing mx its recommended because u can see where your tire is and where your opponents is.

on long wheelies when you get tired of standing you can just peek around the side to watch where your going.

and the cool factor

Also if you lose some of the bolts for the front fender there not jiggling around everywhere when you hit jumps and stuff

alright, thankseveryone for clearing this up a little bit more for me. I do mostly trail riding and it would deffinately help with being able to see how close your wheels are to the trees. I ride trails like i'm in GNCC at times haha full out on the 400 pretty scary though doing 65MPH over the whoops on a trail. When I do watercrossing though I would probally get soaked with cut fenders because there are times where you dont make it but I guess thats the fun of it

I hate that. Theres not really an advantage most people just do it because it looks cool.

well idk what the dif would be b/c i have never riden a 12.1 but there isn't a huge dif between 10.1 and 11.1 so i would geuss not much

and by the way i have a 10.8 to 1 so it is pretty much the same as a 11.1

that is a nice quad, are those brackets to reinforce the plastics? Where it looks like screws under your front fenders

those are fender extensions that were part of the fender kit. i think they add about 6" to 8".
keeps the mud from coming over the top of my boots. :D

theyre firm, but flexible.. (my wife used that same line on me years ago. :blah: )

I like the feel of race cut better, and I still don't get wet/muddier then when I had full fenders.

Heres mine.. Best thing I've done to it was cut the fenders.I really like being able to see those front wheels in the woods.

i guess i'll only cut my fenders if they break

there was a post long long ago where a guy cut his front fenders
but not straight, he cut them with like a dremel into flames.

I am pretty sure it was on a 400ex also

08-06-2007, 04:49 PM
that would be awesome hopefully some on can dig up the old post because I wanna see that

I searched the site for............too long and I cant find the flame cut fronts on the 400ex.

here is a pic of a banshee with flames cut into plastics
(it was listed as stolen, this would be an easy one to spot)

08-07-2007, 04:48 PM
wow thats aweosme with the flames

I wish I could find the ones on the 400ex, they where just the fronts cut to flames and they did a really good job on them.
not as large of flames as on the banshee.

they cut the fenders a little longer than most race cut fenders so that if they piled it up and broke some of the flame ends off they could always cut them back a little more and have the
"normal race cut fronts"
