What are the differences between the NGK DR8ES and the DR8ES-L? The honda dealer told me they are the same, but I have to believe they have a different heat range or something?

Does anyone know for sure?

I dont' know the difference of what the "-L" means but NGK is a quality company and does not "suck". I've used their plugs on everything...Honda even uses them as an OEM part.

I called two local bike shops and three auto parts stores and
FINALLY got an answer, here's what they told me....

D=thread
R=resister
8=heat range
E=thread reach
And The rest is a little scetchy but he told me that basically the
(his words) ESL is a 1/2 heat range hotter than an ES.
He said that ngk's numbers are backwords from other plug
manufactureres. The lower the number the hotter the plug.

I understood him to mean that the ESL would be like a
DR7.5ES.

Can't guarantee that info. but it all sounded good when he
was saying it.

Hope this helps.
