400ex carb problems/questions

hey guys i have a 02 400ex that i just bought from a friend of mine fully dissassembled well i got it back together ,had to replace the valves,and timing chain, and now that i get it running,it sputters and my dad said the 2 hoses on the top are the problem. he sucked on the hose and it started to idle fine. where do these hoses go? or hook up?

it sounds like you are talking about the 2 drain/ overflow tubes on the carb..

also make sure the gas tank cap and breather tube are not clogged...

im not sure but they are on the top of the carb i have no breather line on the gas tank. so where do the hoses go?

those 2 hoses just hang over the top of the carb,, they dont hook into nothing, there just vents

ohhhhh ok well im gonna try rejetting it because the old owner ( my buddy) is a ****tard and jetted it wrong.

its not idleing right. i start it it revs real high then when i go to hit the gas it bogs down.

well as long as you know the carb is clean.. it sounds like its time to rejet
