450r sputters at mid to half throttle

1 have a 04 450r honda. its been sitting for a year.it ran perfect when i put it away. I started right up and ran fine. till i gave it lot of gas and it sputtering at mid to topend. so i since cleaned tank,carb(twice),plug,airfilter,checked valves. still does it. any info would be appreciated!!!!

swap out the cdi box

did you thoroughly clean the carb? disassemble everything and make sure all passages and jets are clear?

i see this alot at work when people "clean" carbs and it still isnt any better.

another idea... drain the old fuel and put new fuel in it!

Yeah drain the fuel. My buddy also had a sputter problem on his 450r and a piece of plastic had gotten over the hole on top of the airbox lid. Made it run like crap. I've never experienced bad gas in a car before, but have multiple time on an atv.

above me, air box lid defietly check that even on my ltr if its even a little restricted it sputter

i put my sweathshirt clamped under my seat so i wouldnt loose it but the sleeve got cought in the air box hole made my quad not got higher than mid rev till i finaly noticed it was my sweatshirt took it out ran fine again so ide definetly check that
