450r vs yfz450

Which do you think is faster. A 450r with the HRC kit or a stock YFZ450..??

my YFZ with a pro design K&N, lid off, jetted, with the baffle out was pretty comparable to my buddies 06 honda with the HRC kit...

Whats faster? A 450 with Mods or a stock 450? Do you now see how dumb that question sounds. You take the same year TRX and YFZ and mod one and not the other, and YOU ride both. The modded one should be a good bit quicker and faster.

yea but they dont brake as much as the 06's and have better trannys so you lose some you win some

thats not a dumb question... the YFZ is quite a bit faster than the 450r and LTR, and so you do need to mod them a bit to make them as fast as the YFZ...

i just told you my scenario... we both run 20 inch sandstars on C series rims, we both weigh roughly the same (although i think i had him by a few lbs), and one rider being superior to the other was not a factor either...

Aleast someone else agrees with me the yfz is a faster quad then the 450r =p and the guy that belives the same ussuly disagrees with me. :devil:

It really depends on what year both quads are.
The early YFZ450's was a tad bit faster than the earlier 450R's but the newer 450R's are a tad bit faster than the newer YFZ450's.
The weight of the rider and skill level also plays a huge role.

well you got those two parts right... but the early year YFZs were leaps and bounds faster than the 450r... the 06 450r got considerably faster, but the YFZ got a bit faster in 06 as well and still will outrun the 450r

Actually the 2004 450R did infact have 33 horsepower.

my unlce has a 05,06, and a 07. the 07 is the fastest but it's got a dasa pipe, HRC kit k & n air filter, and a edelbrock carb. anyways the 05 was dynoed at 37 hp stock. Plus when you ride the 05 it feels faster then his stock 06 but im not sure why. :eek2:

nah i pulled my baffle before it made it worse cuz i didnt rejet, and don't make fun of my ride man because your either a rich lil kid whos parents buy his stuff or ur just an old pr*ck who cares what i ride at least i do ride... also my friend has a z400 and i dragged him about 6 times i won twice and the other times i was within 2 lengths so id stfu before i hop through the computer and beat the living $h** out of you because making fun of someone over the computer makes u real cool and tough

man what a angry kid lol.....but anyways man there's no way a ltz 400 lost to your 250.....im done bashing the 250 but seriously your 250 would never beat a ltz no matter what you have done to the ex. that kid who raced you must have been a horrible rider.

id love to own a 250ex, they are nice quad...and they will last FOREVER

first off did u even read what he started secondly my buddy with the z isnt very fast on the z it was like a 200 - 250 ft drag maybe his tires were spinning but it don't matter i beat him twice and came close on the others he has twice the horsepower maybe im just good at taking off on a 250 lol? i dunno wether he started in first or second but i know i started in 2nd and droped the clutch had him every start

and modded they are friggin fast as hell. my buddy has a full sparks engine in his '05 with the fcr carb...and it is puttin out about 55 hp without any head porting. he has a cam in it that sparks doesnt even make anymore

nor bashing your skills or your quad so dont take it that way, but a 400ex would beat your machine in 3rd gear, and by the time you are at the end of 250ft id be well into 4th...the z is even faster. even if your friend cant ride...all he has to do is pop it into third and hes got you without thinking about it

As for mx i was thinking yfz 450r ltr kfx...but the debate could go on for ever...

all the 450's are great its just the rider you could put pat brown on a raptor 250 and he will smoke all our asses

none of it was directed toward you... i was agreeing with you how he shouldnt be bashing... it was all directed towards the dude with the kfx400...

the YFZ is hands down the best machine out right now...

Just out of curiosity, how many people here are going to go trade there quad in on something, due to the outcome of this post? When someone asks for your opinion, give it to them, respectfully, if they dont accept it, move on with you happy lives.
