I have a 2005 400ex. Ive had factory, fox air float, oem 450r shocks, and have elka triple rates ordered. PLEASE tell me that Im gonna be happy w/ elka's. I have a elka on the rear w/ a elka linkage.

U had new springs and revalved elka shocks. Whats wrong w/ there springs and they come valved for a 175-200 lb. rider.

yea you should be very happy with the elkas.. you should definatly feel an improvment over what you have had on there,,,

elka may not be the best shock out there but i love mine. like i tell everyone that says that they suck. its better than stock. and i got mine for 200

I can only compare what I have now to stock shocks, as I've never had any experience with Fox or "R" shocks on a 400, but I can say without a doubt you will be very satisfied with your purchase. There is ALWAYS something, better or faster out there, but you will not be dissapointed with your purchase. I can't honestly believe the majority of the Elka haters out there, could really tell us specific reasons why they think "they suck". I think people are just negative sometimes, just to be negative. I'd be very interested to see specific reports from someone who had Elka's, then had PEP, then had TCS, then had Motowoz etc, and was able to tell us exactly why the Elkas were so bad.

were you happy with ur floats? why dont u have them n e more? would they work for mx? srry for all the questions but i ned shocks and they are cheaper. tyvm

I like the floats for general trail riding. They weren't the best in a series of jumps, but the land good if u give them enough time to rbound. They are slow at rebounding.

i just want to keep from bottoming out. smooth or soft isnt a big issue but hitting the groun going 40 with ppl behind u is. will they suit me for mx? i have never had aftermarket shocks.i am on a tight budget and they are only 700 so i am interested

I wish u would have asked me yesterday. I just sold them for $350 shipped. If u can get the pressure where u like it they should do fine.

I love my Elkas, im not going to sit here and act like there isn't better, theres always better. But im not gonna sit here and be told they are junk or even average. I think they are a above average shock.
