Whats your insurance like?

I am having a hell of a time gettin insurance. Main reason is that im getting ready to turn 19. My parents will not let me on their insurance, if my dad was primary driver it would be $60 a month. I've been getting quotes from $197.29 up to $477 a month!

Liability, less than 200 a year.

Welcome to the wonderful world of sport bike ownership. At that age you are going to pay out the wazoo.

State Farm was cheapest for me, but I couldn't afford the insurance on a sport bike until I was 27.

If you absolutely have to have a motorcycle at your age, I'd suggest something like an FZ6 or a Bandit--something along those lines. Still sporty, but much cheaper to insure.

Under 21 years old and over 600cc's means you really really want one bad to pay that outrageous insurance.

no way in hell id pay 3600 a year to insure a 5grand bike. Just pass and wait for your parents to come around or else until you are old enough to afford that rate, thats rediculous. How many wrecks and speeding tickets do you have, my rate at 18 was only 90 a month and i didn't even want to spend that.

Wow those quotes are ridiculous. I would not ride for that. I was older when I road so it is not even worth comparing.

2001 zx6r - 220 yr full coverage
2004 zx636- 210 yr full
2002 R1- 340 yr full.

All with state farm.

No wrecks and no tickets, well one ticket but its not on my driving record.

My buddy knows a kid who is also 18 and paying $60 a month so i'll get it figured out.

BTW, the bike is a 2007 Yamaha R6

Liability, less than 200 a year.

I still owe a couple grand on the bike, bought it new...

I can afford that rate but im not stupid enough to actually pay that. State Farm was the cheapest at $197 or somethin like that..

Liability 272 a year. 04 600RR. I saved some coin to pay straight up. Financing isn't very attractive when you must carry that type of coverage.

My son is 20, he has a '07 CBR600RR and his insurance is $162 every 6 months and that is full coverage with $500 deductible. It's with State Farm, SF is by far the cheapest insurance you will find for crotch rockets. I'm listed as primary on the bike is the reason it's so cheap.
