i have the 400ex front shock on the rear now how do i adjust the preload? I want it one more setting down to be lower and softer

i would un bolt the bottom of the shock.. take a pair of channel locks and turn the preload ring on the bottom of the shock left i believe and that should soften it up a bit

oh, just unbolt the bottom? not top?

yea just the bottom that way theres no tension on the spring... it makes it alot easier...
