Crf 250r Or Cr 250r

I don't know which one to get, I rode my friends 01 cr and loved it I went home and saw how the crf 450r was around the same price, so I jumped on that and got a 04 crf 450r and liked it at first then relized I was going to kill myself on this. So I sold it and know I am want to get back into motorcycles and I'm torn on which one to get, a 2 stroke 250 or a 4 stroke 250. I do fast desert riding. If you have any opinions please post a year, thanks

if you are looking for something with alot of torque, the 250f is the way to go. If you want a wide spread power band, go with the pinger. although i recommend a kx250f from experience... just my 2 cents...

if you go honda, get a 2001 CR250. best year for the newer models.

if you go thumper, its a mistake if its red.


if you do not buy a '01 CR250, buy something made by yamaha.

if you'd kill yourself on the 450 thumper you might just do the same on the 250 pinger =p and ur gunna be selling that brand new 400ex =p ?

i think ur best bet is the 250f
i love the old school two strokes but the four strokes gonna be way more reliable.

No way are the new 4strokes way more reliable than 2 strokes... Also you pay about 10x as much in parts for the 4strokes vs 2 strokes.

I have an 02 cr250 and its got most of the goodies on it with some motor work involved as well. I rarely get beat by any of the newer 4strokes in a drag race/up sand dunes.
