Reeds question.

Not an R, but a 250 pinger dirt bike that I have is having problems. On top end it is blubbering real bad. Not jetting or fuel related. How can I tell when the reeds are bad? Would that be a symtom? Any ideas?

my friend had a prob w/ reeds not working . i believe it will have pwr loss almost like a bad plug. breaking up on the top end.

Thanks, that's what it's doing, really breaking up on top. It has a power valve too, and I think it is the reeds, but could be a power valve adjustment too. It's a Rotax motor, so who knows what reeds it needs?! Good bike but you just can't find parts for it! ARGGG!

Uh, I'd say it needs good reeds, at least better than wut are in there now

I fixed it Thursday. It was in the power valve adjustment. Previous owner had it so loose it wouldn't even compress the spring. Tightened it down a bit and WHOA!!! Runs strong now.
