What kinda info you looking for? It's a Leager 250r and it's free, if it needs a few things I still dont think you will have too much in it.

if its clean and in good condition your going to have one BAD bike no doubt :eek2:

its not that we dont believe you, its just hard to know what you want to know.

The biggest thing with them, as with any quad, is maintenace, keep everything in check is important for that quad to last, but other than that, the best way to get some info, is to ask specific ?s that would make it easier to answer

is it a leager narrow frame does it have the protrax. if it has the protrax set up make sure all the bearings are good.

ZSNOW

witch frame came out first? its what ever they came out with first he built the quad a while back when he races atv motox,

what should i look for it in as far as how stuff was taken care of? and what should i watch out for for stuff i have to change out?
and what did they have for a arm and swing arm options for those leager chassis?

Why dont you ask him if he knows anything about it, also iyou should probably tear it down and rebuild it.

ZSNOW
07-30-2007, 09:48 AM
ill be running neatv practice with it maybe at mx207, and i will get pics up as soon as possiable as for the rebuild it will get all redone this winter same with my blaster, and my dads gonna run 40+ on it next year haha

but i thinks it gonna be in pretty good shape prolly needs a good cleaning and some maintenence updates since it hasn't been run in like 2 years

07-30-2007, 10:59 AM
like dvx said ask HIM, its not like you can say you have one laeger 250r and its going to be the same as another.

ZSNOW

ok....

If it's been sitting for two years without being cranked I would bring it straight home and put crank seals in it.

ZSNOW
07-30-2007, 12:17 PM
i already ordered all gaskets and seals to replace

The Leager's Pro-Trax (T-Pin) front ends have been around since at least '98/'99 (if memory serves?)

Please correct if I'm incorrect.

Are you sure it's a 270? I can't recall ever hearing a R motor being 270 but I guess there's allways the chance.

ZSNOW

What is the difference between the Pro-trax and the regular T-pin frontends?

ZSNOW

same as my question

Laeger was the first to come out with the T-pin frontend, which they named the Pro Trax. If you have +4 A arms then you have the narrow frame. It's a cool design but it pushes bad in the corners and it's expensive to rebuild the bearings/bushings.

ZSNOW

it does have plus 4 a arms so it must be a narrow frame, what can i do to help with it pushing into cornerS?

Unless you're a professional, I wouldn't worry about it.

The majority of riders, self included, would never notice the difference. Not bad geometry, just better geometry has since been discovered.

ya, one thing to ask, did leager have factory built ones, with leager motors? or was the motor your choice?

your not very familiar with this stuff are you?

Laeger only manufactures components for quads. They do not manufacture the quads themselves.

A-Arms, Swingarms, Frames, Steering Stems, Spindles, Tie-Rods/Ends, etc.

Laeger, in my opinion, was the "pioneer" in making quality, hi-perf. suspension parts for quads. I think they, at one time, even made a frame for the Suzuki LT250R.

how much quad riding experience do you have? not knocking your ability, but a 270R is quite a handful for ANY 13 year old.

Dude post pics! I'm betting that he's calling it a laegers because it has laeger a-arms and maybe a swingarm. It would be pretty amazing to be given a complete laeger protrax quad considering to build it new for the frame, swingarm, shocks and a t-pin front end ran $7500+

This may be the info you are looking for:

Laeger made an assortment of frames in different combinations based on what the customer ordered.

Front ends were either standard 250R width or Narrow width = -2 inches.

Rear ends were either standard 250R link setups or CR500 link/shock setups.

Mounts consisted of XC or MX meaning that they either have tabs for fender stays, and coolant overflows or not.
Depending on what they ordered they either came with propeg mounts that only take special pro-pegs for Laeger frames or standard 88/89 style footpeg mounts.

A plus 4 a-arms make it really wide probably 50+" if it's a standard front but +3" if it's a narrow front.

Your 86 motor has a short rod in it and revs a bit higher and being bored out to 270 means it's over the standard 265 class limit and would probably have to be run in open class if you are racing but for rec riding you can do whatever you want.

and as far as it being to much for me, probably right now it is, but i can grow into the power. and im almost 6 foot so other stuff don't feel like it has much power because of my weight and hieght. and yes its a laeger frame. because its plus 4 a arms so if it wasnt the quad would be like 60 inches wide lol

if its a narrow frame, it would be 50" or 49" with +4 a-arms. I have a stock frame and +3 a-arms, its 49". From what I have been told, not many sets of +4 t-pin a-arms were made, most were +3 arms, so to bring it to 49/50" you would need 3/2 wheels, instead of the 4/1 rims that a normal frame and +3 arms would need.

keep in mind the pro-trak front end is everything on it, a-arms, steering stem, spindles, hubs, tie rods and ends, there is a reason its so much. It doesn't use any of the stock stuff, ok, it probably uses 250r or 450r brake calipers/rotors.
