I have a 06 yfz 450 and i just put the hot cams and the 13:1 hc piston in it as well. The problem is that it turns over really slow sometimes not at all like the battery is dead but its not its brand new. We pulled the starter off and there were black pieces in it with some black shavings. Also we tried to pull start it and it wont stay running but i think that is a piliot jet issue. So if anyone knows about this problem please give me some feedback thanks.

the high compression might be why it turns over slower, and metal shaving dont sound good.

If you can turn it over by hand it probally isnt the compression. But just to be on the safe side you may want to check the decompressor. Im not sure how it works but if its similar to the 450r it works best when its within spec.

Id be afraid of those shavings. Shavings are not good. Its the way your engine speaks to you. Its yelling, "something isnt right, save me." Tear back into her and see whats going on before you cause more problems.
