wait.... the 450s are cramped? 220 pound weight limit? this sucks...

I would also say the raptor, unless you are racing or something

yah- i have heard from several larger people that the YFZ feels cramped...

as for the 220 lb limit- the raptor actually isnt much more than that... my buddy who weighs 350lb rides a 660, and i think the weight limit on it is 240lb or something...

uhhm 220 pound weight limit on a yfz? ... ehhh the shocks are pretty stiff its a well built quad ... my 250ex has a 243 pound weight limit and my 270 pound uncle rides it ... you should have no trouble on a yfz or any of the other 450's besides the raptors tall it will be tougher for you to get on because my uncle is 5 foot 6 and ike 270 and he has trouble getting on my 250ex my wise advice is to get preferably a yfz but its your choice do what you want

yfz craped... im 5'9" 308 and it find it quite comfortable. In fact i think its more comfortable than the 4x4. I think the raptors are a little tall for my likes. My yfz is also lowered and has drag bars on it(incase your wandering there handle bars that are stright out from the mount, no upward bend whatsoever). As far as the weight limit I find the extra weight just makes it ride a little bit smoother.

ive seen alot of bigger guys on yfz's and they love em'

personally i would get either the kfx or the yfz, i dont think you'll feel cramped at all....

also about the weight limit, that can all be fixed with some revalving

that my 0.02

i didnt say i felt cramped... at 5'8 and 180 lbs i dont have a problem with it... but i have heard from several other guys that it feels cramped...

now this cramped feeling can be helped by getting a longer steering stem, or a lot of the aftermarket clamps actually raise the bar about an inch and that makes a big difference to the feel...

but, with his 270 lbs, i still maintain that the raptor 700 would be the best bike for him... with the yfz's lack of bottom end, it would be hard and tiring for him to ride it how it should be ridden... he would have to have it WOT all the time... unless his primary focus is motocross- raptor 700 is hands down the bike for him....

I would hit the dealers and sit on each one and make your own judgement on which feels best for you. You will be suprised what handle bar adjustment (or change out) will do for the feel. They are all good quads. The Raptor torque may suit you best, but depends on how and where you plan to ride. If you are going racing at the track the LTR. If you want a trail quad the Raptor and KFX have reverse, which is nice. The YZF doesn't have reverse but is a great all around quad.

I have had a Raptor (660) and a YZF and am 6' -270. I now have a Banshee and a TRX 450 - have been able to adjust each one to fit me comfortabley.

I liked the torque of the Raptor, but the handling of the YZF. But for me the YZF lacked power (both had pipes, filters etc.). My cousin got an LTR and I have ridden it a bunch and it is fine, a little light on the low end (he has filter, pipe, cherry bomb), I like the wide stance and handling. Another buddy has the new Raptor 700 with the YZF shocks, pipe, and air filter and to be honest it is fast, but sits a little higher than the 450's and does not handle as good. But it is a great all around quad.

Also if you are considering the raptor route I think the new Polaris 525 will be an awesome all around quad. I have spoken to several people who have ridden both the 450 and the 525 and they were very impressed. They are people who ride a lot and have a good feel for everything out there.

The most important thing is to just go get one of em and start riding! They are all great bikes!

if it weren't stated on the quad by manufacturers not to ride with a passenger that might just be a possibility

I'm 6'1'' and weigh about 245. I fit a 06 yfz fine. Don't worry about the weight limit my YFZ oulls me up the biggest walls at Glamis no problem. And I ride pretty fast.

it isn't that the quad itself is rated for a certain weight. It is the tires that are rated to carry only so much weight before danger of exploding, or whatever it is they do.

I was looking at all of the above...except for the polaris...I sat on the Raptor 700 and it feels good but I don't like not seeing the front end. The KFX450 just plain sucks...its cramped and the seat is too damn hard....worse than the older YFZ's. Now the YFZ didn't feel the best becasue of the bars being low but other than that it is the...but the bars can be fixed....

I'm 6'1" and 250 and I like the YFZ over the rest

Im 6'4" 175, I loved the YFZ but when I just sat on it at a dealer it felt to small, the TRX felt the best. So I bought the YFZ anyway, and it feels fine, actually perfect. When I sit on it in the garage it still feels small but when Im riding it its a whole different feeling. Could use a little longer stem but not a big issue right now.

if you've got $125 lying around, Rocky Mt sells a trail tech kit that come with a new fat bar billet clamp that looks sharp, and some fat handle bars... with there set up it raises the bars about an inch or so, and you would be amazed at how much different it feels...
