I am gonna be Manufacturing a few things within the next month or so to test and hopefully get somthin going! I would like to become a site sponsor so i can sell my products threw the site but I gotta take it one step at a time.

Now to the Pegs.

They are CNC machined in a Mazak VARIAXIS 5 Axis 780-XS Machine. It took me about 6hrs to Draw and program them. They are 6061 T6 Billet Aluminum. I am working on a set of Nerfs with heel guards in a Pro Peg style. I made them 2.5" wide to give a little more footing and added in a few extra rows of points for added traction.

Let me know what you think. Open to Criticism.. Hah

I will also get some beter Pics later tonight...

Those look great! How wide are they coming off teh bike? They look a little short to me or it may just be the way Im looking at them. How much will a set run?

Wouldn't wide pegs hinder ankle movement for shifting gears as well as shifting your body position side to side?

Stock They are about 1.250". And yes there are two things i have noticed i need to change all ready, The length of the Pegs and the Height of the Kick up. I really dont want to throw a price out there just yet as i dont know how much it will be to run production on them. But I will let you know when I get an idea.

Thanks, Nick

I have actualy thought about this and I all ready have a set in the works with a slight angle on them to make sure that Shifting will not be a problem. I will be testing both set ups and going from there.

Thanks, Nick

Right now I am not in the position to give out a price. I dont wanna give one out and have it be way off and eather hurting me or hurting you. I am gonna be testing them on my 400ex Chassis Hybrid. As for what i will make them for, It really depends on were the market is. I am gonna make them for the 450's and 400ex Chassis for sure.

you might want to consider making steel inserts for the teeth. Aluminum wears down pretty fast.

I never thought about that, However i belive that the AC Pro Pegs are made from Aluminum as well. I guess I will find out if that will be a problem when I get the R&D time on them. I deffinatly want a product that will hold up and last!

I would love to be able to have a few sets made and have them tested by a few riders here on the Form, But I gotta make sure they hold up to what I put them threw first. I wouldn't want them braking and hurting someone. Would rather have it hurt me. But after I get some good time abusing them I will probably be making a few sets and asking a few members to give them a try and a report.

AC new blackline has bolt on stainless pegs which are much better than previous models with the aluminum.

I guess we will see how they hold up, If they dont then its back to the drawing board!

How much run time on the milling machine does it take to make a set of these pegs?

I would also make sure that you can still bolt up a set of standard nerf bars to these, I think that would help sell them too. I would love to test a set out, I am probably one of the most critical people when it comes to setups. I catch he!! for it all the time on here!:chinese: Either way I always love to see people trying to make their own stuff! Thumbs up from me!

Ummmm. It took more time to do the surfacing and the pockets on the botto than it did to run the top, Couldn't run the bottom to fast but the tops were ran at 300" a min....that machine halls some A**...

steel is much stronger and wont wear down as fast. but if you leave enough material below the grooves to be able to regroove them with a drill bit or something might make people happier.

they do look a tad wide to me. i like being able to pivot on my footpegs to throw my weight forward and back. but if everyone made all thier pegs the same we woudln't meet everyones needs. i am sure there are people out there that want a wider peg. maybe you can make two widths down the line to meet a wider need.

Whats the max spindle speed on that machine?

You could run steel inserts for the teeth. Slotted attachment to allowing for customization. Center could be adjsuted slightly higher than the edges allowing for a better roll of the foot. Or in mudy conditions the edges could be higher and the center lower for maximum bite/grip. etc..

Just a thought.

they look to be pretty strong but as for the teeth they look too shallow and close together, like others said bolt on steel teeth are best and stay sharper longer.

As for testing you want various opinions from different types of riders, from beginers to pros, youll also want to have them compared directly with the best pegs out there right now (or really the most popular), i have 3 quads, one has ims pegs, one with pro armor, and one with AC, i have also ridden blingstars and the newer DG pro pegs. i know what i like in a peg , but what i like can be completely different from what some one else might like. if you want id be glad to test a set ill even pay shipping and any other that might help, i can give you a comparison by atleast 5 different guys that i ride with againist just about any peg setup made (none of has the new rath pegs which look killer) we'd be gald to gice them a run down and i like that the pegs you pictured are for a pro pegs setup becasue on one of my hybrids you cant run bolt on pegs and im sick of the AC pegs. btw the guys that i ride range from C class to pro-am. if youd like to do something like that shoot me a PM we'd be glad to help, there is always room to improve on the products out there now, you just need the right idea and better the rest with the little stuff.

Well they look good. Very solid. But on IMS pegs the middle row of teeth is taller than the others. Ive found that taller row is what keeps ur boots from sliding off the pegs. Not to rip on ur product, but its possible ur boots could slip off of them.

I dont care what anyone says. From this engineer they look very nice! It looks like you spent a descent amount of time on your design, the good thing is you ride. So you know what you are looking for and need. The pics dont do them justice I am sure! But definately understand the situation with the camera phone.

I would like to see your set of nerfs and pegs when they are complete! The design looks good. Definately a solid basis to start with.
