My 4 year old races the stock 50 now. I plan on let him ride it one more year before upgrading to a bigger 50 race quad. Has anyone installed the Hotseat Perfomance Kit for the 50?

He will need a little more get-up-and-go next season!

Thanks for any input or suggestions.

Put your money into a new quad not really worth moding the 50 look at a DRX 50 you will be very happy and when it comes time to go to the 70 .its just put on the 70 kit and go we can drop ship one to your door . Check out the drr link in here any questions just ask.

I have to agree. We are in the same seat you are and we are going to upgrade to the DRX 50 for next year.

At 4-5 he is still using the foot risers on the Predator. The DRX is alot bigger and I think it would not fit his size yet.

At $435 for the kit, as compared to over $2000 for a new DRX, I think I will try the kit to keep him riding safely this winter and the early races next year. Maybe he will be ready to practice on a DRX while racing the Predator next year, and switch during the season when he fits it better and has more experience.

I realize a DRX type is the way to go, but it is a matter of rider age/size/skill and safety as to when to make the jump. I think a modified predator will be less of a jump than a DRX. (Tell me if I'm wrong.)

Has anyone installed the Speed Kit from Hotseat Performance?

Where to start we started racing last year on a polaris the first few races were fun but as he got into it he was getting thrown around and started to slow down. then one day he asked as his friend went buy why he was going so fast and did not complain of been thrown around . Well as you can guess the other machine was a DRX 50 . well he took it out and found out why real fast when you go from no suspension to some thing with it there is no comparison . My son is 6 weight is 42 pound and is 42 in height .So you say safty well the Drx is 41 inches wide compare it to your 50 at about 34 and you will see. He has just finally tipped it over and that was because we went to a 70 and caught a birm and he jumps off and say dad that is defintly faster and jumped back on went faster the next time. for atop end to change to a 70 when your boy is ready 199.00 and thats an allum cylinder.

when we first got it look at how high he jumped

this was last race with the 70 he loves jumping now because he knows there is some suspension under him.

Hes very small but is able to ride it to his potential if you know someone get him on it to try it . this will be the best SAFETY thing you can do . Dont waste your money on parts that will not get you any further ahead .They make pegs to add to the stock DRX floor board as well or you can get the nerfs and raise them up . I would save your money finish out the season and up grade to another machine i have yet seen a pred 50 that anyone put money into be well spent .

I have to agree. The width makes all the difference in the world. I bought one last year for my 5 year old (who is small for his age) and it stayed under him alot better than his sunduro 90 did. He had no problems doing doughnuts or jumping it until he tried clearing a 26' tabletop. He is now on a motorcycle thanks to his mom.

i put the hotseat kit on my sons 50 predator.. it made a huge differance.. i bought the exhaust with the roller and jetting kit(i think it was @300 bucks).. i had an aftermarket cdi that i added cuz the one hotseat had was too pricey... i also got rid of the 16 tooth sproket on the front and went to a 19 tooth.... i put on some wheel spacers to make it wider.. but if he isnt careful it will still roll like a meatball and the suspension stinks..he just turned 5 and im starting to get him used to his sisters old 70.. BUT..like your kid , he is small for his size and i like the adjustable footwells..sure he isnt the fastest out there , but at least it fits him and he is learning the basics instead of being overwelmed by a quad thats too big for him.. his sister races on a drx 90 and when he is ready, drr is the best quad out there for the money

My son and I have both 08 DRX50lc and 05 pred. 50.
The Pred is great due to being only 2/3s the size of a DRX (and my son is a SMALL 6 y/o) but thats about it. It was Great for Oliver cause it was a starter quad I bought him when he was 3
By the way I doubled the speed of the Pred and its now 1/2 as fast as a DRX....Its absolutly PATHETIC for racing especially in the stock class and honestly past that point its abilities go down hill when you consider whats available for the little thing (NOT MUCH) compared to anything else..IE DRX50.
Once you take delivery of your new DRX youll do as Ive been doing and will be amazed at what ya got there compared to what ya just spent to get it!
Ive wasted ALOT of time and $$ on that little pred and the best I have is a good starter quad for my 4 y/o daughter... just my $.02
