full exhaust(yosh is my preference), better than stock bars(i like a straighter bend), pb block off for sure, and first on my list would be a better locknut. i got a mod quad locknut and it is the best thing i ever put on my bike...never comes loose like the stocker

wtf is that? a locknut, which specific lock nut are you talkin about?

thats the nut on the axle that holds the axle in place.

i have a stock locknut and ive never had trouble with it. hmf full system exhaust is what id suggest. pep suspension. it pretty much depends on what kinda riding ur wanting to do. woods or mx?

whats pep suspension? I do woods, recently got my 400ex 06 but havent did much to it yet. Im just really looking for best bang for my buck, not full blown spending.

thats peps. theyre probably the best shock out there for woods and mx. u just have to get them valved differently for how u ride

Can I exchange my arm and a leg for it instead?

haha its expensive but well worth it. or if u find a cheap set of 450r shocks u could send them to gtthunder and send the rear shock. thatl b like 800 for all the shocks

MX. and some woods. BUT mostly mx.

Also what type of tire should i get. I want it to have great suspention and a fast motor.

Oh and why do i need a pb block off? Is it necessary?

Thanks.

id get maxxis razrs in the back and razr 2s in the front.

u need the pb blockoff if u get a new clutch bc itl lock up the parking break

i put the pb block off on mine because it was a hassle always adjusting the parking brake and i never used it anyway. the pb block off completely eliminates the parking brake...no more hassle

I race mx and it's only my 2nd year, I learned hard way. Do suspension first, maybe full exhaust. If you want a little more outta the motor I got 11:1 piston(stock size) and stage 1 Hotcam.
It helped alot !!
I'd go with kenda fronts, and razr rears for tires too.

id go stage 2 hotcam if u touch the motor.
but suspension would def. b 1st. then if ur gonna go mx id go some +2 arms and +2 axle. ull get alot more corner speed out of it

id have to say that the razr 2s in the front and the razrs in the back is the best bet. the razrs are a great all around tire. they are shaped just like the razr mxs just bigger nobbies and they are 6ply instead of 4. so theyll be a lil heavier but not that much different so its not gonna hurt u in mx

If you are going for great tires at a cheep price go with Turf Tamers. I use these tires and love them. They wear great are good for hard and soft tracks and only cost about 40 bucks a pop!

well atvmaster besides the fact that your going to need a tether if your racing, you cant race a 400 your only 13. And IF you get your 400 you wont need any engine mods or suspension cause you dont hit any jumps and you barely take your trailblazer fast HAHAA nah aj im only playing, suspension dont waste alot of money because you barely hit jumps, but for good handling get some 450r shocks. Engine mods you need nothing you still make me take ur trailblazer up the small little hills your scared to go up but the 400 will rip you up those so you dont need anything get some razr2's for our type of riding you dont want any problems in the rear so some big tires will keep you from hitting those big *** rocks like i do with my little turf tamers

yeah aj but the razr2's will last longer, alot longer, and are both 6 ply theres a few threads on here discussing which is better gncc dont last as long but are lighter but honestly it wont make a differencefor you you'll be better off with razr2 that way you dont get stuck in mud or anything cuz u do on ur trailblazer, DAN COME HELP ME

If you ride woods, would the first thing you would buy is skid plates? I would...

I know what your saying on the tires. That would be my first 2 decisions - tires, and skid plates.

I have ITP holsehots and love them. I ride woods and dunes mostly but they work great on an mx track too because of how wide and flat they are.

I would buy the quad and ride it for awhile the way it is. Change the oil regularly and eventually get a K&N airfilter, an exhaust, and a jetkit. After that, i would worry more about suspension than power.(front shocks especially)
