hey imthinking about getting a honda civic with a JDM ZC 1.6 VTEC swap. whats r the specs on that engine and where can i get a new turbo for it? please just tell me a lil bit abou this engine, thank you, steve

Does the valve cover say VTEC on it? Because the ZC blocks didnt come out with very many VTEC engines they are VERY rare. Otherwise these motors came with aroun 130 horse if im remembering right. Most ZC blocks are jus dohc motors that are non-vtec even in Japan. Its kind of a weak motor for having VTEC being that it only makes 5 horsepower more than its little brother motor the D15. But you can find a new turbo for it i imagine at http://www.sportcompactonly.com . If i were you i wouldnt bother turbo'ing that motor and i would pull it and put a strong B16a motor in it with a turbo.

yes it says VTEC right on it, it is an import from Japan (the engine)

yea that motor is not very common even in Japan. What year of USDM civic is it?

that looks like a stock motor, a ZC came in the ef late 80-91 civics, crx in japan, and bolt straigth into the cars here, it would take a lot of work to get it in that car.

in 92 they started offering the 1.6 single cam vtec motors in all the ex civicslike pictered here. so its not a ZC, also ZC vtec motor was only a 1.5 single cam. Also they dont have a turbo stock, you have to buy a kit or piece one togeather. if anyone was going to do a motor swap they would ditch that single cam and drop in a B16 1.6 dual cam motor.

I work for a Honda dealer in Cali, if you get the engine number off of that motor i can tell you what it is exactly. That motor is not a ZC its is a Single cam V-tec D16, get me the eng # if you are interested in that car but it is not a DOHC.

its deff not a dohc , it looks like a stock ex motor with a cheap ebay intake.
