i run holeshot HD's on my 400ex and i do the same as you. lots of trail riding and mx and they work great for both. i'd say they're your best bet.

I personally for mx use probably use Kenda Klaw xc or the Kenda Knarly their relatively cheap and they are lighter than most other manufactures.

6-Ply Maxxis Razr's if your kinda serious about the MX part.

6-Ply Razr2's if your more in it for the trails. (I jump with Razr2's and think they are fine. Some think they are to heavy for jumping.)

i just put a set of razr mx's on and i was surprised how they did off track. stay away razr2's. they are garbage. way to heavy

Razr2's are a little on the heavy side, but they make up for it in the other departments

I run GNCC's on trails/tracks and they are great.

Keep my fat *** enough traction to pass 450rs... good enough for me.

I agree! My friend that I ride with had these on his KFX400. We both ride MX and a lot of trails. Their cheap, 6 ply, light and have a ton of grip. When I need new tires they will be Kenda's, just not sure on what type or size. Another tire I would use for MX and trails would be ITP's GNCC. Just like GraphicDisorter uses.

Razr Mx's are definitely an all around tire, work good on the track and off.

But I wouldn't call Razr2's garbage by no means. Is it heavier then most tires? Yes. But it hooks up great and is awesome in the trails.
