i need help on a couple of things. i have a pro design cool head but what size dome do i need to run in it? what about a timing plate is it worth buying and installing?

it has
fmf gold series fatty pipe
fmf power core 2 silencer
v force reeds
38mm air striker carb
little port work
new wiseco piston

what do i need to do next

If your going to use pump gas, probably a 22 to 25cc dome would be needed. High compression dome would be around the 18cc & you would need to use race gas at least 110 octain.

An adjustable timming bearing carrier would be nice to have but not needed unless your planning on some high performance engine mods. Addvancing the ignition timming will add some performance gain but would be hard to notice by the average everyday rider.

I put an adjustable timing plate on my 350pv and with a 1985 flywheel I ended up with a +2 to 3 degree advance for the most power on the dyno which was only a 1/2 HP difference on a 58hp engine. The point is that advancing the timing on that flywheel by 2 degrees give the engine the same timing as a stock 1988-89 flywheel, so the factory did the work for us.

I wouldn't spend anymore money on a stock topend. Buy a bigbore cylinder kit. You will be amazed with the performance difference.
