Has anyone out there gotten rid of the big black nasty box on their bars and put a simple small start button on instead. I don't run lights so I don't need all of that garbage and want to clean up my bars some more. if you could post pics of how its wired and what button and where you got it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I dont have a picture of how its wired, but I got a yz kill button from RMATV. I think it's about $12. I didn't unplug it, but cut all the wires about 4-5 inches from where it does plug in. Just took some wire connectors and connected them. Can't remember which wires they were, but you can follow them from your stock button assembly. I'm sure someone on here knows which wires to cut.

I ditched the whole assembly and also used a yz kill switch works great, but i took all the pins out of my harness and made a new harness for the switch just in case i sold the quad and someone wanted to put lights back on it.

The light switch runs down under the hood to another harness and plugs in there, i took the pins out of the socket and made my own harness for the start button.

gotcha.....is the stock switch just a two wire setup? And is the YZ kill switch 2 wires also?

Yes correct 2 wires only just hookup and go.

You can buy a switch and plug that plugs straight into original, it also includes 2 wires that you connect tether kill switch to
It is from ATV Innovations or baldwin

Moogie does eliminate the the light switch and all or is just for the tether kill switch

Yes this replaces the complete orig start / light switch. It plugs into same 6 pin plug as the original.
The start button is the same as yamaha stop button, but these guys have put in harness so you can just plug in. Also it has 2 spare wires that you connect kill switch ( these wires are part of original eng stop action)
The other thing this harnes does is allow you to start eng in gear
The original has a clutch switch that if gear is not in N and clutch is not pulled eng will not start. When you put aftermarket clutch perch this switch is gone and you cannot start in gear. This harness is wired up so it can

hope this helps

do you have a part number or anything...cause baldwin hasn't launched his new site yet....or does ATV Innovations have a website. This would be exactly what I want. I already have a Works Connection Clutch perch so I already cut my harness for the neutral saftey switch. Thanks for the info

I am in Australia and got it sent over from baldwin, you may have to call them or google the name for ATV innovations
