IM looking for A New truck. I found a 2002 Dodge Dakota with a 5..7 Hemi In it. It has a 7 foot fisher plow, and 130000 miles on it. Its Copper Orange with some xtras and immaculant condition. This truck is extremely sharp , and there asking 12500 for it, but I think that i can get it for 10500. is this truck worth it? I really like this truck, and to me its worth it, especially if i can get 2500 for my blazer.. Any advice or info is appreciiated...

Any truck thats had a plow bolted on it, i would stay away from. Especially if the truck is from an area that gets a lot of snow.... I just think plowing if very hard on any vehicle, think about it, what if the guy that had it didnt give two ****s about it, he may have used the thing like a dozer for all you know....

My $0.02

That seems a little high for a truck that was used to plow snow. I would be leary of any vehicle that has been in places that recieved alot of snow. Where there is snow, there is normally salt. Where there is salt, there is normally rust.

The truck does not have a hemi.... unless the previous owner retro'd one in there.

Like others said, be carful, plowing snow buts a lot of stress on it, make sure it look it over real good.

I would be hesitant to the truck too bc im sure that the plows not very good on the transmission at all. Just to make a point and agree with MOFO that the motor isnt a HEMI unless the previous owner put it in there. But thats just my $.02 too, if it wasnt for the snowplowing I would say go for it, u might try to find out how long its been used for plowing :ermm:

its a 5.7 Magnum R/T. They are quick trucks. I wouldnt pay anyone 12500 for a vehicle with 130000 on it already. Its almost ready to be rebuilt/scraped.

I hope your not talking about all trucks there chico. 130,000 is still getting broken in. My buddy has a jeep with 300,000, other has a truck with almost 200,000, other has a Jeep cherokee with over 200,000, mine has 120,000 and thats probably one of the youngest out of most of my freinds. But I do agree with not paying 12500

ummm...no. I've ran a v6 with 160,000+ on it. My 2004 chevy 6.0 hit 105k and i have done nothing but put plugs and wires on it. I had an old dodge with 175000 still runnin perfect when i sold it. Cousin has a Jeep Cherokee with 215000 never rebuilt. Numerous work trucks with over 200k also..

I went after work to the place and test Hemi up and down, until I asked to look under the hood. I told him that I worked for an auto dealership, and that I wanted to see the Engine. I ran the VIN at work, and it has been in 2 accidents, and he told me that there were none, and I finally told him that it was a 4.7, and he said he knew, and i told him that they dont put HEMIS in a Dakota. He continued to lie to me, so i told him that I would be buying a truck elsewhere. On my way home I stopped at a USed car dealership, and saw a 03 RAM with the 4.7. I ended up test driving it, and loved it. Its all black with a Chrome grill. I am picking it up for a little over 10k, with 92k miles on it. Turns out its the owners truck, and he used it to commute to his job at a prison down state. This truck is awesome and a perfect price. What do you guys think?
