Is there anyone on here that has done this swap and can tell me if it absolutely works or not? I have a complete 2006 450r rear end (swingarm, shock, carrier, axle). The two swingarms seem to be fairly identical from the rear shock linkage mount to the pivot bolt, but the 450r swinger is about 1 inch longer from the shock mount to the carrier. I searched and found a couple threads where they said it worked, and some said it didnt. SO can someone help me out?

The swingarm is the same, but keep your old 400 shock. The 450 shock bolted up lowers your quad way too much.

Did you have to use the 400 carrier? Because im pretty sure its different

If I could ask, why are you swapping out everything, and you only need a chain if you needed one before hand.

The 2006 450r swingarm is longer than the 04/05 450r swingarm. You must have an 04/05 swingarm. The quad seems to wheelie happy on hills. So having another inch would be beneficial. This all started because i have to get the motor out of my ex,and the swingarm bolt is frozen in there severely, and im going to have to do a lot of cutting to get it out,and i have a whole 450r rear end. So i figured that if i mess up my ex swinger getting it out ill just use the 450r rear end. Plus i think the 450r axle is wider

What year swingarm did you use.? My 400 ex carrier is about a quarter inch wider than the 06 450r

I used an 05 swingarm with my lonestar bearing carrier. Everything works fine for me.
