all the bearing are good too,i dont know what happened here
may be to much compression
this setup was
stock 12.1 piston
.030 shaved off head
stage-2 cam
with the stock pipe
maybe to much pressure build up

that sounds like a huge rebuild to me. put a stroker crank in er and a 101mm cylinder. 14:1 piston, port & polish, Stage 3 cam, kibblewhite vavles and springs, DEFINATLY NEW BOTTOM END!!!, etc.
sorry i get excited sometimes when i see a bare motor

Holy cow, I sure would like to know what happened there! How does the cylinder walls look? I cant believe all of the bearings are still free rolling and it snapped, how the heck would it even do that?

My 04 did the same thing. I changed both engine cases, new crank (had falicon rod put on and trued and welded), new cylinder and piston. I changed every bearing and oil pump for reliability.
Good luck

That Is total destruction, what a shame. The one pic looks like the needle bearings are flat, like the bottom crank bearing went bad. Might just be how It looks from the pic. That will cost some dough. Maybe he over reved the dog balls out of It & stretched the rod.

So are you actually gonna buy all these new parts and reuse the bearings? To risky for me.

I have to agree with Benwa450r and Chris - you can't always see what got into the bearings and they may look fine and seem fine, but there is a lot of debris from that type of catastrophic failure.
Do yourself a favor and spend the extra dollars now and change the bearings for sure and the oil pump is a good idea as well. That way you will eliminate another catasrophic failure linked to this one.
Not doing it may work out fine, but the alternative is much more expensive and time consuming.
Good luck with the repair and getting back out there quick.

I would tell them you will not finish it without new bearings. When it lets go two days after you give it back to him it will be some bad advertisement for you. Nobody will listen to the explanation, they will only remember that you put it together.

i would never even dream of putting that motor together without all new bearings and seals and also at least a piston while its apart-----( u really think that piston is in good shape?????? look and what the rod did that it is attached to?????? ):huh :huh :huh

its assinine to even think about putting the engine back together without replacing the bearings and piston. :huh

Skimp out on 30$ main bearings??? You need new cases, anyway . That sure is off the wall. I would never rebuild something like that for a customer if they are that cheap. Like others say ,when it lets go or has the smallest problem its your name no matter what. ;)

well the crank bearings will be changed.......i think you have to use the HOT-ROD bearings with there crank anyway
its the tranny bearings that will be reused
balancer bearings will also be replaced
