I located this 250R for sale. All stock 1987, except for it has:

450R tires/wheels
FMF Pipe/Silencer
RPM Bumper
RPM Skid Plate
RPM Grab Bar
Renthal Bars
MSR Clutch Perch
K&N Air Filer

This is one of the cleanest 250R's that I have seen. It has brand new plastic and it started up on the 1st kick. The guy that owns it didn't know too much about it except it takes 32:1 gas mix. All lights are in working condition.

How much do you think this worth? Or what would you pay for it?

Thanks for advice!!!

Hard to say, the 87 itself isn't worth a lot, maybe $2300, but those new plastics make it worth a bunch to someone who knows and wants those. Considering the hood /light are discontinued - they're probably worth $700

If you do pick it up, I'd be very interested in the PRM bumper and possibly plastics.

This may been a stupid question, but i thought only the 88-89 had the light built into the hood, and the 86-87 had it mounted to the handlebar. I have a 87 and its mounted on the bars.

I hear ya... You could buy a fully aftermarket for that price. He thinks his bike is gold! I have to admit, it is clean! :eek2:

If I had the cash, I would pay 5 grand for such a close to stock machine, just to restore it to original so I could put it in my living room!

I hear you. I only wish it were 88-89 chassis. I already have a 87. If you want it, come and get it. 30 minutes South of KC, MO.

For $4K for a mostly stock machine - especially one that isn't completely original is way too much, once you change stuff that is discontinued it makes it worth way less.

That guy will sit on it for a while and come down to 3k in the winter. If you want it that bad just wait.
