Well my dad just got a new 07 F150 and the stereo has pretty much no bass at all. Can you add just a sub to get more bass or do you have to get an amp and stuff too? I don't know anything about stereo systems so thats why im asking.

All i would want is like 1 or 2 10s for alittle more boom.

you'll need an amp, wires/cables, the whole shabang

in all honesty if all you want is some more bass just to make the music sound better you wont need anything fancy at all. 1 10'' sub in a truck would be a lot louder than you think.

Did you turn the bass all the way up on the stock system?

If so just turn down the trebble a little. Then you have to turn the volume up more to here the music which then it sounds like you have more bass.

Redneck sub!

There are a few powered subs that are out where all you would need to do is get the wires and run them but the subs are still like 300-500 bucks because you dont have to buy the amp The basslink by infinity is one of them that sounds great my friend has one in his car but anyways heres a link from crutchfield. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-B2MRn7NcmVR/cgi-bin/ProdGroup.asp?g=51000&avf=N

i have an 8" with a amp RIGHT behind my driver seat in my truck and it will make your teeth rattle, two 10's in a truck cab would be overkill, if set up right a smaller sub can produce the same quality sound as two big subs

this is my set up, i was short on money at the time but it still does its job. as soon as i get some payments taken care of i'm doin an upgrade

alot of ppl bash em but a bazooka tube works just fine if u want just more thump...i have one in my s10 and it does fine...its not meant for thumping rap but it sounds pretty damn good with rock

i second that, if alls you need is alittle bass kick get a bazooka bass tube. itll do the job just fine. or get a 8 or 10 inch and put it in a small box and make sure its sealed good. if your gonna run an amp just run the sub on mids or highs.

IMO i dont think 2 10's would be overkill. I have 2 10's in my extended cab f150 that fit right under the seat. The only way it would be overkill is if you dont make them sound right. If you just want a little more bump i would suggest 1 10' JL or Kicker for quality, 2 10's if you want BASSSSS!!

here is my 2 10's under my seat in my truck

I suggest you get one good sub. How much space are you willing to take up? I suggest getting a 12", porting it won't take up too much space, and sealed can save a lot. There are endless choices. Do you plan on upgrading your electrical? If you don't, I wouldn't get anything over 600W. My friend bought 3 Eclipse SW8200 12's, and one of them pounds on 375W! But it needs 670W to really get it moving (RMS), and it's inefficient, but it works best in sealed boxes (Eclipse says don't port it). I have an RE XXX but I'd reccommend a type-R, IDQ, SW8200, compVR 12 for now. They are very cheap on ebay!
