If I decide to go with a Stage Two hot cam Then i won't have to hard face my rockers right? Would I need Titanium valve springs? What do they do?

you dont need to do anything to your valve train. i spoke with tony from hot cam and he said if i go to a aftermarket ignition then i will need HD springs as the cam will have no probs hitting the stock rev limiter.

but as it is you do not need them with the stock limter. i will prob pick up better (lighter) springs when i get my head ported and stainless valves to lighten up the valvetrain early next year.
and maybe then i will get a higher revving black box

But I do Have a higher reving black box. So I will be needing heavy duty valve springs right?

No, even with the rev box you wont need springs...You can run it that way forever and not have a problem but the springs are cheap so if it makes you feel safer then i would go ahead and get them!!

thats what tony from hot cam suggested

so i am going to get hd's when i do the rev mod

i would rather spend 120 then 420

when i got to rebuild my engine i am putting a 440 kit, stage 2 cam, hardened springs and rockers and i am going to have the cam hardened also. and i am going to port/polish it and put in a high comp piston. i know thats going to be a ton of $$$ but it will be worth it i'm sure

Anytime you're replacing a cam it's always a good idea to replace the springs or at least check them for seat pressure. After a while spring will weaken and sag, some more than others. I don't know what seat pressure the 400EX valve springs are supposed to run but let's just assume it's 100lbs. of pressure. With a 4-valve head you're bound to have different spring pressures amongst those 4 springs. You might have 3 springs at 98lbs. and one down at 80lbs. Weak springs could lead to eventual spring failure and also to valve float especially on a cam with a more aggressive grind than stock.

i got titanium springs u can tell from the color of em. so when i get my 416 i will be ready and have everything but the piston kit and labor.
