Okay, Honda has 2 machines from the 80's that I am not familiar with. The Odysey and the Pilot. What are these machines? And what is the difference between the 2 go karts.

the odysee was older and came in 250cc, the pilot came in 350 and 400 i think, it had way better suspension and just everything about it was better than the odysees..fun machines but i've never got to ride one. my friend has an odysee that i want to restore.

the oddessey was a 250 or 350cc two stroke with different fenders that were fenders on the sides but then your feet went over the plastic on the frame. has worse suspension and handleing than a pilot. the pilot was a 400cc two stroke water cooled fan assisted with 4 wheel independent suspension better layout and better handling. the pilot was alot fast and used 250r frt. a-arms and shocks while using more of a sandrail rear suspension. the pilot seat was a padded seat with a 4 point harness instead of just a plastic seat with a lapbelt. the controls on each are rigt hand gas left hand brake with straps to hold your hands on the steering wheel. pilot is electric start and oddessey's are pull start. thats all i can think of. u can ussualy pick up oddessey;s for between 1000 to 3500 bucks you will be lucky to get a pilot for under 5400. thats all i can think of. hope i helped u out some

i used to have a 350 odysey (SP)
it was a neat machine

the 250 odysey(sp) was very primitive u could almost compare it to a lawn mower frame.... the 350 odysey was nice, almost as nice as the 400 pilot which was the ultimate i think 250r mike said the diff pretty much

umm i have a fl250 odyssey sitting in my barn and it has a padded seat with a 4 point harness and the gas is on the rights side of the wheel and the brake is on the left, just like a pilot, except there is no straps for your arms

Honda started manufacturing the Odyessy in 1977. It was a 250cc machine with an air cooled MR 250 top end. It had a limited travel front end w/ a rigid rear. In 1981, Honda updated the machine w/ red plastic, a full roll cage and a few minor differences. In 1985 it was discontinued and replaced w/ the FL350. This one had a 350cc air cooled engine and featured full suspension along w/ reverse and a full roll cage. Not a bad machine. About 1988 the Pilot was introduced. It had a 400cc liquid cooled engine, really nice suspension, reverse, and was a blast to drive. It was like comparing a Yugo(1977 model) to a Corvette. Pilots can still be found, but the nicer ones that aren't beat command a hefty price. Most go for around $6000 to $8000 for a clean one.
There. A quick history on Honda's original four wheel fun machines. And it was even written in a manner that anyone can understand, unlike some of the crap on here that looks as if it was hammered out by a brain dead octupus wearing boxing gloves.

Yes, you've got it "straigh". The controls were on the butterfly shaped steering wheel. Your right hand controlled the throttle while the left controlled the brakes while you "drived". Jeez!!

Please, all of you who type and write as described in my earlier post, PLEASE DON'T spend any more money on your quads!! DO invest in "HOOKED ON PHONICS" or something similiar to improve on your education and writing skills. My parents would've thought I was retarded if I had ever written like some of the stuff I read here. I'm not refering to the little kids here, but the older ones who have supposedly passed 5th grade are pathetic. Done with this rant..

anyway 300 yes they use throttle and brake on the steering wheel kinda like how rally drivers shift.
