Tell me if you guys think this looks OK. I just got this axle off ebay. Supposed to be a new 400ex +4. I have a LSR 400ex axle on my quad presently and the keeper ring is different. The one on my quad has the keeper ring almost covered totally by the sprocket hub. The new one has a gigantic ring and will not be covered by hub. I can wiggle the sprocket too..just a little bit.

The numbers on the center are ES-8255-9502

I hope I have not been had here.

Thanks,

Glamis

That does look alittle strange. I would give LSR a call and ask them about it. Post some more pics of your quad! Looks good from what I can see!

The one I have looks like the one on the bike, not the one you got off of ebay. Have you tried to mount the wheel hubs on it yet?

upon closer inspection, it's a Magnum axle. The ebay seller used a LSR photo to "lure" me in. I sent it back to him.

Well that sucks that you were had but at least you were able to send it back to him. Maybe you should post his eBay user name so that others won't fall for the same thing.

well, I don't think I should do that. It was my fault really for not asking prior to buying. If the price is too good to be true...ask.

Did he claim it was an LSR axle or did he just say it was an "aftermarket axle"? Unless he mentioned that it was not the same as the picture then I would be upset with him. This would be referred to as false advertising. At least you were able to give the axle back.

It was listed as an +4 aftermarket axle. The pic looks like an LSR due to the sprocket hub.

I really don't know what it would have taken to get it to work. I'm not about to N@gger-rig my axle on my $12K hybrid to save $100 off retail.

What's wrong with the axle you have now?

I've developed some play in the left rear hub. No matter how hard I tighten them, the left one comes loose after about 5 hours. Thanks god for cotter pins.

Have you tried cleaning and lubing the splines?
