Here is the site if yall want to check it out. I dont know how big any of you are into car audio, but I plan on redoing my whole system in my car off of this site.

no problem yall. I ordered an Audiobahn AW1200V high excursion 12" sub from them and im ordering another one, with an Audiobahn 2400W amp (from another site unless this site gets them in soon). A friend of mine had this set up in his s-10 and hit around 140db's at a competition.

its not always just about the subs and power, its about how the box is built. Another friend of mine had a box built by some local people who know what they are doing and his 1 12" sub on a 100w amp was out hitting my 4 10's i had in my dakota. Its all about the box

yeah I know its all about how its put together and how the box is built and what not i have a complete infinity kappa perfect sound system in my and it hit hard but it doesnt hit over 110 dbls and thats all done to factory specs and professional standards there no way your friend hit 140 that would shatter the glas and blow out you ear drums a f16 jet only hit about 140dbls with its after burner in full thrust.

it hit around 140db's. I have seen it hit the 140 mark before. I was at the competition and I saw the meter. I have another friend of mine with 6 10's in his s-10 that hit 141db's and you can sit in it just fine. Cant see anything but you can sit in it. I sat in a car with 24 10's in it already, yes i said 24 10's, and you cannot function anymore when they crank it up but you can sit in it, and the only thing that shattered the glass in it was the rearview mirror flexing and shattered the glass at the mount. Theres only one truck around here that you cannot sit in and thats because it hit 161db's with 4 15's

Amazing mythbusters hit 161db with a huge custom sub your friend must be way better then them because there's only lasted a few seconds befor total shut down

heres another good one http://www.makeitlouder.com/carstereo.html

Don't go deaf:

loud db is bad for your ears!:
When your ears are mad at you, they will "ring" (doctors call it tinnitis). Sometimes they will "ring" instantly, from gunfire or sometimes you will hear ringing the same night when your trying to go to sleep or even sometimes the next day. If your ears ring "you had it to loud", turn it down next time until you dont get the ringing anymore. If you keep abusing your ears the "ringing" won't kill you, but it can, and will get LOUDER until it will keep you awake at night(no way that is cool). Furthermore, if the ear abuse continues your ears will NEVER stop ringing and that fun part is you get to live your life with poor quality sleep FOREVER...
We recommend that you limit the amount of time you spend listening to loud music to 1 or 2 songs per day(usually no ringing if not to loud 100 to 120 db bass only), or just wear earplugs and turn it up to feel the vibrations beat you up. The level of damage is also changes with frequency. From hundreds of people it has also been determined that frequencies below 40 hertz can be about 10db louder than bass above 40 hertz. This is very important because most of the top of the line woofers can play significantly large amounts of power below 40 hertz. So if your system has an equalizer booster or bass frequency controller, you can shift the bass frequency lower(below 40 hertz) you can get more vibration AND at the same time be safer for your ears. We also agree with everybody else that an electric guitar solo frequencies( 1 to 4 kilo hertz) are really bad for your hearing, but equally there is no way that over +120 db bass can be good for you. Ipods can also be bad for your hearing, if there to loud. Remember, you can always buy new amps and speakers but you cant buy new ears.

But I guess your better at this and know more then them to.

For which one. I'm thinking about getting that ten...

mineralgrey01gt

i say the 10" one

also there are plenty of people around my hometown that have systems louder than 120db's. So I guess according to a tv show I have to limit the amount of bass I have in my car? I can gurantee my car with 1 12" sub in it has more than 120dbs, and this system doesnt hit near as hard as any other ive had in previous vehicles and im doing fine. Ive had them for the past 6 years, and who says that they turn them up to full potential when just "cruising" around. You cannot see in front of you because of the vibration. As for the 161db truck, its fully built with 4 audiobahn 15's, no wood used on the box, all concrete and steel. It can be done with those speakers if thats what you was debating. Also 140db's isnt hard to get to, its getting above that line is where the money starts to really pour in.

Guys, alot of that is lowend stuff. Some is nice, but watch out.

mineralgrey01gt
07-21-2007, 03:04 PM
yea a lot is low-end, thats why im only picking up the stuff that I know the quality of. I know Visonik has some nice stuff out, dont know how the stuff is on there.

I went a different route. I bought quality used stuff. Resonant Engineering XXX and a Visonik 1500W amp. Custom box, blah, blah. Good for saving space, and still gets decently loud.

dude its not that far-fetched that his friend hit 140 or whatnot...my neighbors son(R.I.P) and one of my friends brother used to go to car comps. all over ohio and my neighbors son had the second loudest in ohio last year(212's if im not mistaken)nd my friends brother has 2 audioQ12's with a orion amp 5000w i think in a 300m and he hit 156...and this system is way to loud i think...he has to ride with his bass all the way on negative8 and cant turn it up past like 10 or so cuz itshatter his windows...

so that "complete infinity kappa PERFECT system must not be that perfect..

o yea i forgot to mention that listening to a system for long periods of times messess up your vision more then your hearing because of the vibration...heard it somewhere on tv i think but cant remember where
