recall on 2006 starter clutch and gear

i just got my 2006 TRX450ER starter clutch and gear replaced by Honda. they put a new one way starter clutch in and a different starter gear. now it starts with ease. someone ought to sticky this so everyone can find it.

Was it replaced due to recall? or did you just get Honda to cover the R&R? If its a recall I havent got a notice for that (...just the other 2 recalls :ermm: ) It would be nice to get that taken care of. I occasionally have a prob w/mine.

I have the recall papers for mine, Came in about 2-3 weeks ago?? I also had some problems.

it is not so much of a recall as it is a product update campaign...i have had my letter for 3 or 4 weeks now...i have until 08-08 to get it done...i am gonna wait until this starter dies

same here, Honda replaced mine once already so I will wait till this one lets out and get it done then,
(unless this one lasts too long, then I will get it done before the expiration date)

...ok just got off phone w/Am Honda. My quad is part of the campaign/recall, but I havent got a notice (yet). I called my dealer, and they were basically saying that they would 'inspect' and replace 'if' nec. Do I need to 'break' mine just to get it replaced??? The last time my starter acted up, it pretty much ruined my weekend.

I had it done on me 07... didnt do squat for me. Still dead last off the line everytime :mad:
