Water pump 'mechanical seal' bad?

Quick question....Whiler getting ready for a ride recently (bike cold, not yet started) I noticed a bit (less than size of a dime) of coolant/water that seamed to leak out of the water pump drain tube. According to my service manual, this is the water pump mechanical seal, and book says to replace if any leakage. I dont have the tools to pull/press seals/bearings, so before I go to Honda, has anybody had any probs w/the water pump seal? Do I need to change w/such a small amt of leakage? Quad is only 1 yr old. 2006 450er

When i first bought my 06 it did this once and has never done this
again, i would just keep an eye on it.

You don't need any special tools just to take the seal out. It will come out when you tak the impellar off.
