Well, you know how when you do a full engine rebuild, you think you will be satisfied and not want more power???? Well ive got my 460 stoker kit ordered....My thoughts are if i sold my bike, i'd only get 3500 or so, and its a fully built MX bike with lonestar/PEP all the way around, so im keeping the ol' 400 and putting a stoker together! if i switched to a 450, i'd have to basically start over from a stock bike, jsut with 450cc's and it wouldnt be mx ready....Good idea??

Good luck on the build. I was in the same situation and now sportin a GT Thunder built 452 stroker. 440s won't touch it and stock to light modded 450s are left scratching their head. My .02 is go all out on the headwork. I'm runnin a C&D race ported head and very pleased.

I love big bores because its like a sleeper. People think oh yeah 400ex I can whip that, wrong! I am just afraid of failures when doing that. It puts more stress on your engine and things wear out quicker. Plus I hear you can crack the cylinder easier because its thinner but idk. My friend had a 05 400ex with a 440 and strocker or something and he kept telling us it was stock and he would always sandbag well one day he wanted to show us and he was gone so quick it was jaw dropping we all sat there looking like what the... hey that has to be a big bore

dont forget over size studs and wy your at it give it a pro mod port job 5angle valve job and 1mm over size intake valve that babby will grunt from bottom and scream on top

The only thing im going to do to the head is put the HD studs in....Shes already got plenty of headwork done to her.... Everything was all brand new 6 races ago, and thats the only time i ride it, at the track....
