My 86 is extremely loose on the upper right ball joint. the ball joint shaft is loose in the spindle. So I'm not sure if the spindle is worn out or the balll joint or both. What will fit for a-arms in an 86 250r? Whatever you think I need I'm looking for-

A-arms with tight ball joints and front spingles- original or aftermarket -let me know

Hi my 88r, how are the 88's different than the 86's? Will they work and could you spare the spindles as well? Jon

all of the 86-89 a-arms will fit on the 86-87 frame, but 86-87 a-arms will not fit on a 88-89 frame.

The differences are this:

86-87 arms have a larger pivot tube and bushing. The frame tabs are longer to accomodate this.

The 86-87 have a replacable ball joint on the upper arm
The 88-89 arms do not.

So...........if you have a 86-87 frame, any OEM a-arm will work.

The differences in the spindles are this:

86-87 spindles use the same size bearing in and out. There is a collar inbetween them to prevent the inner races from binding.

The 88-89 spindles use two different bearing sizes and the spindles have a stepped spindle shaft.

So........if you have 86-87 hubs, you will have to use the same year spindles.
