but which one? I plan on getting one after I finish up my 250r. I like all of them but which one is an overall better bike? Im kind of leaning towards the ltr-450 but the yfz is looking promising also. Let me know what yall think and why yall think each is better.

I cannot comment on the KFX because I they haven't become popular enough around here, but I would say YFZ or TRX...which ever you prefer the feel of.
Unless you are an MX rider only, I would stay away from the LTR. They have excellent handling, but their engines are weak.

What do you plan on doing?...as far as riding is concerned?

the 450 will probably be set up for mx or flattrack, the 250r is being built for mx but id like to have a 4 stroke also. I have rode quite a few yfz's and a few trx's and the yfz feels better to me out of those.

Personally I would stick with Honda. Your gonna be doing pretty much the same thing with both of them so you would have the option of all of your wheels and tires being for either bike.

I would say the trx450r. It has a very strong motor that can be modded easily. It is also a great all aroung quad. The suspension isnt the best but your probly going to get some aftermarket suspension soon anyway

id definitely buy aftermarket suspension as one of the first mods and use the 450r stock suspension on my 250r. That sounds like the best one for me to get since the parts are interchangable

Not the rear shock though.

im not too worried about the rear shock, PEP rebuilt it before I got it so its in good shape. The trx 450r stock shocks seem like they would be a great improvement over the stock ones i have on my 250r

just keep in mind that you are asking this question on a honda oriented site:chinese: you really cant go wrong with any of the 450's. but the ltr is as race ready as they come out of the factory.

speaking of being a honda oriented site, i was just thinking about that to myself about how I see a lot more hondas on here than anything else. I really like the "looks" of the ltr the best. The bike just seems to flow to me for some reason.

I hear that the zuki doesn't make much power, but it feels like it fits the rider much better IMO.

I'm also in the market and have about 6000 saved up for a left over 450. I'm either looking at the white 450r or the white ltr's.

EDIT: Yay! 1000th post!!! W000t

Pick a color. no one 450 is any better then the other. they all have there pros/cons

07-19-2007, 03:05 PM
its a shame people dont consider a well built 250rs anymore. Those quads are alot better then any 450....and you dont have to pay an arm or leg for them

every quad has its fair share of problems the first production year[look what happend to kawasaki]. im sure they will be very fast but i wouldnt want one for the first year or two. and imo theyre the ugliest quad made

i would say ds650 or the ltr450r can am is like the best out right now and the ltr ist like almost race ready stock thats if you got the money almost 8k

If it were me I would say ltr. although i do love my honda i still love those ltr's. they have sick throttle response, suspension is the best out of the 450's on the track and for 60 on a cherry bomb, open airbox lid, and baffle out they perform just as good as the other 450's if not better. just my .02

I already have one 250r so I didnt want to buy another, but if I didnt have my 250r, then of course thats what id buy :)

Thanks for all the info everyone. I think what I really need to do is get some seat time on a ltr and see how I like it compared to the others.

actually and honestly, a place down here by me sells the ltr for $6499 brand new off the show room floor. I dont see how they do it but they do. I havent priced the trx450r yet but I have priced the yfz's and I think they are a little above what the ltr is going for, and what someone said about the bolt pattern, I checked on my wheels and tires off of my 250r and they will fit the ltr 450 so that will help out in the long run.

wait a bit for the KTM450...

mineralgrey01gt

its going to be a little while before I get the bike, like 7 months or so. Im trying to save up and pay cash for everything on my 250r so it will be payed off. I could easily pay the monthly note on a new bike but im not going to start that until I have the R done.

I forgot those were even coming out. Ill check into them and see how they do but I have no clue where a KTM dealer is in Louisiana

If your going to buy one now the best 450 out is the KFX. Its my favorite and ive ridden a few of each brand both stock or modded.

If your willing to wait try out the canam and ktm 450's. There going to be way better and put the big 4 to shame.
