Im geting a 440 big bore kit and was wondering what cam to get.

well it all depends on the type of ridin you do most. and if you want a drop in cam or a non drop in cam that involves hardface rockers and or other mods. then if you want alot of the power to come in hard on bottom mid range or on mid to top. most cams will be all around. low to mid range or [track or race] cam. they will also be called stage 1 and 2 cams. but it all depends on what kinda ridin you do.

Get the TC MX cam! It is one of the most aggressive you can get without hardening the rockers or any of that other stuff!!

what is the xr 400 cam? Is it the actual cam out of a xr 400 dirt bike, or is it something else?

The xr400 cam is the stock for the xr400. Its a little more aggressive than a stock 400ex. I think I'm going to get the hotcam stage 2 cam. Buts thats more of a MX cam. You may want a more of a around cam with a very smooth powerband.

From what I have been reading the XR cam is a little small for a 440. To get a little more aggressive cam. I have a White Bros. track cam in mine and I thought it worked well. However I was a little disappointed in the bottom end power that it makes. It is more than stock but on mid and top is rocks! :D

I would go with a Engine Builders Cam. Personally I would get a TC, Sparks, or Duncan.

If you are looking for a Bottom End Cam check out the TC XC Cam or a FST Cam.
